Black oak flooring with bandsaw marks for Habitat store

Habitat chose black Tate Arran oak flooring, with its distinctive bandsaw marks, in mixed-width plank for the wide staircase and basement in the late Tottenham Court Road store. The black oak floor, here finished in satin oil, shows off the colourful furniture and accessories beautifully. Though it was installed in 2016, it aged well and obtained a lovely patina. The habitat store has closed down since then but this is a floor that is very much worth considering if a dark textured wood floor is desired. Swapping the satin oil for matt completely changes the lustre of the timber and gives the black a much deeper, darker look.
